Designer Description
For prolific designer, Tracey Boyd, the evolution of her career from fashion into furniture is one that excites her. Says Boyd, “My love of design has lead me through many phases of the creative process, from starting as a fashion and children's book illustrator, to the catwalk presentations of my work at Boyd for 15 years as a British fashion designer, retailing through some of the most beautiful stores in the world. I'm loving my new development into furniture; it's where I can combine so much of my experience into these new creations.”
Designer Description
The use of eclectic materials is a calling card for Boyd pieces, with lacquer, coloured mica, mixed nickel with brass and terrazzo among her current favourites. Boyd adds, “I really enjoy working with contrasting materials in unexpected, unconventional ways that they should really be used.” The new Terrazzo Round Coffee Table, which launches in 2017, is one of Boyd’s favourite pieces, with the designer comparing it to “a big slab of nougat treasure”.
